A Simple Pattern For Success

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18  Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

If you truly want to find the will of God for your life this is where you begin.  When you are surrounded by confusion and chaos stop and begin again here:

Rejoice always – knowing that you serve a God you can trust.  He won’t leave you on your own to figure it out and He is a mighty God and nothing is too difficult for Him!  He delights in you!

Pray without Ceasing – The Bible also says in John 16:24, “Until now you have asked nothing in my name.  Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”  Sometimes we whine and fuss and yet we haven’t taken praying about the situation seriously enough to really spend some time alone with God.

In everything give thanks – you can trust that if you are fully following Him He is watching and He has a reason for everything that He allows in your life whether it is good or bad.  He does have a plan that we can’t always figure out but He loves you and that never changes so you know you can always trust His heart!

Guard your heart, Proverbs 4:23 “for everything you do flows from it!”  Keep yourself pure and from sin by guarding your heart because we also know that we can always be sure our sin will be found out Numbers 32:23.  I always used to tell my children the same thing my parents told me, “if you tell the truth and you tell me what you have done the results of your discipline will be much better for you than it will be if I find out on my own or you lie.”  We are always better off confessing our sins and asking for forgiveness both with God and most often with those we sin against than we are if we try to hide our sin.  Sin puts a wall between us and God and secret sins will eat you alive so get rid of it by confessing and asking God for a clean heart and a right spirit so you can move forward.

God loves you and wants what is best for you – do you?  The best in life always comes from following Him and allowing Him to direct our steps in life!  The best is yet to come!
