Colossians 3:17  And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

Do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus.  Well, that should make decision making a little easier some days, shouldn’t it ladies?  If we run decisions by “the name of Jesus” to see how it fits, our decision may be a little more clear.  Let’s think about a few things here:  

  ~Should I allow my daughter to spend the night over at that girl’s house that doesn’t seem to have any genuine walk with God or should they maybe just hang out at our house even though that isn’t always convenient?

  ~ Should I be talking with my friend of the opposite sex about my spouse when we are struggling?

  ~ Should I be going out for coffee, drinks or meals with someone of the opposite sex alone when I am married?

  ~ Should I give to the poor?

  ~ Should I volunteer my time at the church when I have time?

  ~ Should I read my Bible every day?

  ~ Should I find a good church to attend?

 ~  Should I watch that tv show that I know is full of ungodly garbage?

  ~ Should I ………………………..(fill in the blank)

Now if you run each of those things along with any other questions you may have today by the idea of doing them all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God, your decisions may be a little more clear.  Don’t go through life picking and choosing where you will fit God in – do all things whether in word or deed in the name of the Lord Jesus!

Abby and I had a chat yesterday about the fact that “making ‘good’ choices” isn’t always the answer either ~ we need to consciously “Make the best choices”.  If you want God’s best in life then you have to pursue it by making “best choices” yourself!  Every time you are tempted to do something wrong, you need to realize that that temptation is a ploy of a demon to destroy you.  God wants His best for you (Jeremiah 29:11-13) and satan is out to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10) ~ which plan will you choose today?

God loves you and cares about every detail of your life.  The best in life is always found in following Him and all that He has planned for you!
