Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.

Okay, so let’s dig a little “deep” today and see what it is that is really bothering you about him/her! What does your heart meditate on when it comes to your close relationships? Are there serious things that you really do need to look in to, or are the majority of the problems coming from insignificant irritations? If you know there are serious problems in your marriage by all means seek some godly counsel and if your spouse isn’t willing to go, get it for yourself! If you don’t have a counselor at your church that you can talk with, you can find one at www.aacc.net If it is a friendship that is struggling, talk it out with the person you are struggling with, don’t go to other people, that solves nothing. Be bold and save your relationship.

Now, about those “little things”, have you noticed how the little things seem to add up if you allow them to. Satan would like nothing more than to destroy your relationships whether it is with your spouse, or family member, or your godly friends! I got up early this morning as usual and when I walked in to the bathroom, of course the toilet seat was up and that is a huge pet peeve of mine of course, but I have learned that when Bill’s home to never go to the bathroom in the dark, just in case. Anyhow, I was sleepy and the first thing that I heard was a little voice saying, “he doesn’t love you enough to put the toilet seat down.” Hahahahahaha! I seriously had to stop myself from laughing out loud because that is ignorant! He’s a man! That is the end of the story, it has nothing to do with whether or not he loves anyone! He doesn’t put the toilet paper on the holder either, but I can assure you that has nothing to do with his feelings for anyone either! If we choose to, we can pick apart every little thing our spouses, family or friends do and we can make it personal or we can remember that we all have our little annoying quirks! Do you want every little thing that you do to be held against you, because I can assure you that there are things we all do that annoy others! Satan wants to take all the little things that happen in your day and he would love to ruin your day and your relationships! Don’t allow Him to do that to you!

If there are things that your spouse does, tell them how you feel but do it in love. If it is something simple you can learn to live with, then do it because trust me there are enough things in life that must be dealt with. Choose your battles wisely, don’t pick everything apart or you won’t have time to love them! Learn to speak the positive instead of the negative. Don’t allow that mole hill to turn into a mountain. Is it worth losing a relationship over all the little things? Cherish your close relationships and fight to save them when you can. Not all relationships are savable because it takes both of you wanting it to work, so save the ones you can.

God loves you and wants what is best for you. Choose what you meditate on today about those you love wisely. Ask God to show you what it is that you are dwelling on about those you love that is eating away at that relationship. Ask Him to give you the words you need to say that will glorify Him in all of your relationships. If you keep Him at the head of all your relationships, you will find that He will sort them out for you!
Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy ~ meditate on these things.”

“The happiness of most people we know is not ruined by great catastrophes or fatal errors, but by the repetition of slowly destructive little things. ~ Ernest Dimnet
