Bless and Be Blessed

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Be nice! More often than not, you have no idea what that person is going through so be nice! A simple smile, a kind word, a thoughtful action; holding the door, paying it forward, any simple thing you can do to make someone else’s day a little brighter is noticed by God and it will bless you as you do it. You may never know the day that person has had or the loss they may be facing. Would it hurt to just take a moment to show a little kindness and love.

Maybe you don’t have the time or money to do something grandiose today but we can all find little things to do that will bless someone. What if each of us took the time today to just do something little. Maybe there has been something on your heart for a while that God has put there for you to do to bless someone ~ how about doing it today. Don’t put it off, we tend to let things slide when we don’t just ‘do it’! Maybe you have a neighbor that could use a kind word or bouquet of flowers, maybe there’s a single parent who could use even an hour break or a gift card to go out to eat, maybe you should take a moment and sponsor a Compassion child. (Check out some children that are waiting here) Ask God to show you someone you can bless today.

Is there someone you need to forgive today? Forgiveness can be one of the biggest blessings you can give yourself and someone else. Life on earth is just way too short to be holding grudges and unforgiveness ~ what purpose does it serve anyhow? Find your freedom today in forgiving anyone today that has done you wrong or hurt you deeply. Give it and them to God and move forward with a fresh outlook.

Ask God to help you today to see others through His eyes! Anyone come to mind right there that you thought, “well, okay except for this one person…… I don’t want to see them through God’s eyes, they annoy me.” That’s who you need to pray for God to give you a tender heart toward and His love for them as well. Believe me, I know we all have people like that in our lives but God wants us to show them His love as well.

My challenge today is for each of us to avoid wearing our feelings on our sleeves, don’t be easily offended, find someone else to bless today even if it is with a simple smile in the grocery store and forgive where we need to forgive. Try this today and see how refreshed you feel when you have. You are an amazing woman of God, becoming more amazing every day as you give it all to Him!
