Choose Wisdom

1 Samuel 18:14  And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the LORD was with him.

Saul was so impressed with David in the beginning until he felt as though David was stealing all of the attention of the people.  He allowed his jealousy to interfere with the king he could have been during the end of his reign because he was consumed with getting rid of David.

All the while Saul was plotting behind David’s back and even through his pursuit to kill him David was known for behaving wisely and the Lord was with him.  Sometimes women can be the meanest people on the earth, especially if they think they want what you have unfortunately.  The key is to seek God and to ask Him to help you behave wisely.  Revenge may sound sweet but the “sweetest” thing to know is that God is with you and that you have His blessing on your life.

I pray continuously for God to give me wisdom, I have prayed for wisdom since I was a little girl.  I have to admit as a child I had heard the story of King Solomon and thought that maybe if I prayed for wisdom God would make me a wealthy person like He did him.  I was a bit shallow and still foolish missing the point of the story but I did want the wisdom even as a child.  Now as an adult I can see a lot more benefit on many levels to have the wisdom.  I see a lot of wealthy people who are utterly foolish and I certainly do not want to behave as they do for all the money in the world.  I would much rather be known to be like David behaving wisely.

Behaving wisely as a woman of God is part of our pursuit to be “beautiful”.  I would challenge each of you today to pray for God’s wisdom to flow in and through you and for God to be with you in all you do!  The best is yet to come!
