Choose Your Attitude

Psalm 51:10   Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

This verse seems to be a staple in my everyday life!  Somedays it seems as though that is all I am saying to Him all day.  I will find my self in such a tizzy about something that I realize my attitude is about as bad as whatever or whomever I am complaining about.  What is the deal?  It is amazing how we can get so caught up in either what has been said or done wrong that our attitudes take a nose dive and we are back to square one ourselves.

Start every day and end every day asking God to “create a clean heart in you and renew a right spirit within you” and then as you go throughout your day any time you feel you need an adjustment just ask and He will be more than willing to help you out.  The key I have found is to do your best to not keep having to have your attitude adjusted for the same thing over and over because eventually He seems to choose the route of totally embarrassing you to help you remember.  I have had that happen on a few occasions and trust me you remember after that!

Now seriously ladies here’s the deal;  if you have a poor attitude and a bitter spirit it will ruin your day!  Is anyone or anything worth that?  When you decide that today is going to be a great day and you refuse to let anyone or anything change your attitude about that you will find that the struggle goes away.  We can’t get caught up in everyone else’s bad attitudes and actions and allow them to alter ours!  The day is yours to spend which ever way you choose; bad attitude and rotten day or good attitude and blessed day!  Seems silly that it could be such a difficult choice but the choice will make all the difference in how much God can use you today!  You cannot walk around with a chip on your shoulder, grumpy and your bad attitude lashing out to anyone and everyone around you and expect to be used by God like He had intended to use you today.  Sometimes it can seem so difficult to let go of a bad attitude and justified anger only to find in the end you are the one who is paying the price.
