Choose Your Poison

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

So Girl, what lies are you buying today? Is there something that you have been dreaming of doing with your life that you have amazing passion for but haven’t seemed to be able to find a way to do it so you have just given up? Have you given up on finding “Mr. Right”? Have you about given up on being cured of that illness you have been fighting? Has the Fibromyalgia pain almost driven you to the point of no hope? Have you about thrown in the towel on having a baby? Have you given up on having true peace in your home? Have you given up on your marriage? Does that addiction seem to just beat you over the head some days? What’s your poison today?

The reason I ask …… “what is your poison” is because all of those are poisonous thoughts! They are all thoughts straight from Hell. If God hasn’t told you “no”, and that doesn’t count closing a door or two, then you are not to give up! There are doors that close that are meant to close but that doesn’t mean His answer is “No”! If God is telling you “No” you will know it with every fiber of your being! Ask Him for a verse in the Bible to show you if the answer is “no”, if this is something you are passionate about or if it is your health we are talking about! Don’t just give up! There is healing to be had! Satan wants you to give up! How much more effective for God would you be if you were able to have or do what you are striving for? Then don’t give up!

We are so used to instant everything in this day and age that if we have to wait for something or we have to look for answers outside the box then we often seem to assume the answer is “no”. I have watched some people with illnesses that pounce on the attitude of, “well, this is just my ‘thorn in the flesh’ that I will have to live with” and yet they are unwilling to try anything other than a medical doctor to get well! If you are ill, you need to pray for God’s leading and then be open to the fact there may be someone who can help you that isn’t necessarily carrying a medical degree. There are some great natural doctors out there, Bill and I even know of an Oncologist that created a natural medicine program because he was tired of watching people die of cancer.

The point is; no matter what you are facing, don’t just give up! God will strengthen you for the journey if you will just seek Him! Don’t allow Satan to have the victory today by throwing in the towel on your hopes and dreams! Get fired up and fight! Ask God to show you the way! Ask Him to give you the strength you need, He has promised to give it to you! Go for it….. the best is yet to come!

Good morning! Thank you for this beautiful word! I read your devotionals almost every morning. Can I the name of the natural medicine program for cancer? A lady I went to high school with has been diagnosed with a terminal brain cancer and begins chemo treatment later this week. I thought she might be interested in alternatives. They’ve only given her 1-2 years to live. Please, lift her and her family up in prayer. Thank you so much! Have a wonderful day!

I don’t believe that the thought of doubt are thoughts “straight from hell!” And how dare you write such horrible words. Everyone has doubts and second thoughts. God gave us complex minds. There is no such thing as simple faith. It is a hard road and one that we must walk with one foot forward every single day. Do not scare people into faith. That is an awful thing to do. People find faith by seeing other people sacrifice and give BECAUSE of their belief. We don’t need to threaten them about the afterlife. We just need to be good and good to others. When someone asks why we’re doing a good deed say, “my lord is merciful. And I’m his child, as are you.”

      Kristin,
I am sorry if the blog offended you, but I am not trying to scare anyone “into faith”. The Bible is very clear that “without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6) Yes, we all doubt at times, but that doubt and fear come from Satan, not God. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind! James 1:6-8 also tells us:”But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.  For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord;  he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

We are called to have faith and to trust Him! Yes, we are human so we all doubt at times, but that is not of God.

      God Bless,
      Janet
