“Do What You Can, With What You Have, Where You Are.” ~ T.R.

Matthew 6:3-4. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret.  And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

We all need to remember those who are less fortunate all year round.  Christmas always seems to be a  great time for everyone to remember but we need to keep that giving spirit all year round.  There are great ways to help others at Christmas time because there are so many organizations out there that have programs for giving from something as simple as dropping off last year’s coats in a box at the grocery store to filling a shoebox and sending it to children in other countries!  As much as I would encourage everyone to get involved on some level for Christmas I would also encourage everyone to get involved on a local level all year around.

What can you do throughout the year to help the needy?  God expects us to take care of each other so when we have excess it is our place to figure out how we can use it to help others, not just spend more on ourselves.

Take the time to find someone this Christmas season, whether it is filling a shoebox or giving a single Mom in your church some extra money secretly to help her through the holidays in a special way.  Allow God to speak to your heart and show you how you can show His love all year round!  You will be amazed at how blessed you feel as you bless others with the Love of Christ!
