Do You Believe?

Luke 1:45   And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.

Do you believe?  Really, do you believe that God is still going to do what He told you He would do or are you starting to waiver in that belief?  Hold on, don’t get discouraged!  God hasn’t moved, He is still fulfilling all He said He would do!

When you are waiting it is easy to get discouraged, especially if it has been a while.  Your answer could be just around the bend, don’t give up now.  That child you have been waiting for, or that promotion, or maybe that new call of God on your life; whatever it is, God hasn’t forgotten, He will still bring all that He has promised to pass!

I love reading this chapter, it is so full of God fulfilling major promises!  Earlier in the chapter in verses 24 and 25 it says, “After these days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and for five months she kept herself hidden saying, ‘Thus the Lord has done for me in the days when he looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.’ ”  Back in those days it wasn’t just devastating to you if you couldn’t have a child you became the talk of the town among women.  Have you ever been on the end of gossip or ridicule from other women?  Women can be vicious at times (that ought not be so among Christian women – every word will be accounted for one day!).  Obviously Elizabeth had had more than her fill of “her reproach” and God was faithful beyond measure to take her reproach away.  He didn’t just give her a son, He gave her John the Baptist!

What are you waiting on that you have almost given up on?  God is faithful and He will bring it to pass!  Choose to believe and remain faithful as you wait, God will bless you for it!

It is amazing to me how everyday is exactly what I need to read, hear, or learn. Fighting for custody of my son again. It is taking a toll on myself and one of my other sons. I am a single mom and trying to be there for everyone. Thank you for the devotionals. They are a blessing. Sometimes I will start crying from just reading the subject line cause just that alone is something I needed to see.
