“Do You Hear What I Hear”

by | Dec 3, 2018

Hebrews 1:1-2.  God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”

Are you listening?  It is easy to get so caught up in “life” especially around the holidays to miss out on hearing the voice of the Lord if we aren’t careful.  I have watched the newscasts of the craziness of Black Friday and it shocks me that people can be that crazed over “stuff”!  My concern goes much deeper though because I don’t want Satan to be able to steal a month of my life because I am too busy to hear from God.  We shouldn’t need the month of January to get back on track after celebrating the birth of Jesus.

We are so blessed that God has been so gracious to us that He speaks to us on a regular basis!  The God who created all is willing to talk with each of us and guide us through this life that we live.  He hasn’t just set us here not caring what goes on He truly cares and wants us to enjoy life to the fullest and to be the most successful we can be for Him.  We cannot have success in life though if we are taking a month off here and there and doing our own thing just bouncing back and forth between following Him and choosing our own path.  This is a season where our focus should be more on Him than anything else if we are truly celebrating His birth.  Let’s make sure that we are taking the time to listen to His voice and celebrating the way He would have us celebrate!  This should be a season of rejoicing and fun, not stress, debt and frustration!  If you are stressed about the holidays today I would encourage you to take some time alone with God and ask Him what you need to do differently so you are able to enjoy this time and honor Him this Christmas!
