Do You Know Who You Are

by | Apr 28, 2019

2 Corinthians 5:17. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Who are you really?  I’m not asking what you do, I am asking who are you?  We all have a tendency to start rattling off all that we do every day or what our title is at work but that isn’t really who we are.  The biggest factor of who we are is whether or not we have made the choice at some point in our lives to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior.  Once we have done that we are a new creation and the past doesn’t reflect who we are because God sees us through His son Jesus and it is only His opinion of us in the long run that really matters!

In 2 Corinthians 6:18 it says, “and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.”  You are a child of the Most High God and that should mean something.  Trust me it means something to the President of the United States children that they are born into that family and all of the benefits that go along with it, that is nothing compared to who you are in Christ.  The God who created all has claimed you as His child.

Psalm 139:13 says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”  When God created you there was a thought process, He didn’t just haphazardly throw you together.  He created you with everything you need to be successful at all that He has called you to.  He created you with a purpose and He will be there on every level every day if you allow Him to in order for you to accomplish all He has called you to do.

You are greatly loved!  John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life!”  I don’t know about you, but as a Mom, I really can’t see myself willing to sacrifice one of my children on purpose for the lives of others but God did!  He loves you enough that He was willing to do that for you!

Don’t allow your circumstances or other people tell you who you are.  Hold on to who you are in Christ.  Nothing else really matters other than who God says you are.  God created you to be beautiful inside and out and when He formed you in your Mother’s womb He loved you just the way He created you.  Hold on to that fact and pray and ask Him to give you the strength and courage you need to move forward to become all He created you to be!  Ask Him what His dreams are for your life!  The best is yet to come!
