Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

If you are looking for something to fear these days, it would be pretty easy to find. That seems like a pretty silly thing to say on one hand, but fear seems to be like worry to some people and I think they are almost addicted to it. Satan loves to paralyze Christians with fears so they are held captive and are not as effective as leaders for God. There are times though when we can have legitimate fears because of the circumstances in our lives, it is your choice of whether or not you want to live in your fears or give them over to God, understanding that He is in control and you can trust Him!

I have told the story of being awake several nights in a row, feeling as though there was someone or something I needed to be praying for and how I prayed too that God would help me wake up in the morning. Well, as it turns out those prayers may have been for me and my children, here’s the other side of that story; sometime after those nights I had a police officer friend tell me that they were getting complaints from my neighbors because my ex-husband was sitting outside my house for hours every night in the middle of the night and it was starting to creep them out. They suggested several means of safety measures for me to take to protect myself, but at the time I just knew in my heart that this was something I really just needed to give to God, there was really nothing I could have done to protect myself, it truly had to be God. (Let me stop here for a moment to say that if you are in a dangerous situation and God gives you the means to protect yourself, do it! I am not about sitting around passive if God tells you to be prepared and ready to defend yourself ~ make sure you are listening to and trusting God for direction and lean on His guidance and strength and timing!) I did file a complaint like they told me to so it would be on record, but I refused to live my life in fear! Ultimately ladies, no matter what, God is truly in control, but only if you give it to Him and you follow His leading!

For you single ladies, I know it can be a scary thing sometimes to be alone, but you need to constantly remind yourself that you are not alone! God is always by your side and He loves you more than any man on earth could! You are safe in the palm of His hand! Safer than you could be anywhere else or with anyone else! Your safety doesn’t come from a man, it comes from God and He wants to be your everything.

If God is leading you to do something that is just about scaring you to death today, trust Him! He isn’t going to lead you into anything that He isn’t going to walk with you through it! He will build a wall of protection around you and He will guide your every step to the degree that you trust Him and allow Him to. Don’t allow fear to keep you from God’s best! Fear is the opposite of faith, so hold on to your faith in Him today! The best is yet to come!

    Janet,
I don’t comment every day, but I do read every day. My husband and son need this today.
    Thank you for courage,
