Don’t Allow Your Circumstances to Discourage You From Doing What You Are Supposed to Do

Judges 20:23  Then the children of Israel went up and wept before the Lord until evening, and asked counsel of the Lord, saying, “Shall I again draw near for battle against the children of my brother Benjamin?”  And the Lord said, “Go up against him.”

The people of Israel were not happy about going to war against the tribe of Benjamin but they were told by the Lord to do it.  The first 2 times they did they were defeated and lost thousands of men each time.  The third time God gave the town completely over to the Israelites but they lost two battles first.

Are you in the will of God and yet things seem to all be going wrong?  Do you feel as though you are defeated on every side even though you know you are doing what God has told you to do?  Don’t allow your defeats or circumstances determine your feelings about doing what you are supposed to be doing.  Unfortunately just because you are doing the will of God it doesn’t necessarily mean that all will come up roses.  We will always have struggles along life’s paths whether in the will of God or not but the key is that victory comes in being persistent in doing what is right and doing what you are called to do.  Persevere and God will deliver your enemies and He will give you the victory He has planned.

I would encourage you today to press on and if you feel discouraged pour your heart out to God and ask Him for the strength to persevere and to continue to fight the battles each day that you face.  God will give you the strength and the victory you need if you just ask.  Don’t allow Satan to tell you lies discouraging you or making you question the call of God on your life.  God loves you and His best for you is truly yet to come!
