Don’t Be Distracted

John 21:21-22  When Peter saw him, he said to Jesus, “Lord what about this man?”  Jesus said to him, “If it is my will that he remain until I come, what is that to you?  You follow me!”

Are you focused on what God is asking you to do or are you worried more about someone else?  It is easy to get distracted either by someone else in our life because of their bad behavior or because of the call of God on their life.  It is important for us to learn to focus on what God is trying to reveal to us about His will for ourselves, not what He may or may not do with someone else.

I don’t know about you ladies but I have had times in my life where I can get so consumed with what bothers me about a relationship that I lose my joy and my focus on my relationship with God and what He is trying to do in me.  God has really impressed on me lately that it is so important to focus on ourselves and not the people around us.  We need to allow God to use us in ways that benefit those around us but we shouldn’t spend our time consumed with what God is doing in their lives and how that person is responding.

You never really know the extent God may use you so don’t spend your time worrying about others, focus on growing into the woman of God that you need to be so He can use you to the fullest extent possible.  Too many people miss out because they are focused on what isn’t happening in their lives instead of what is coming around the corner if they would just focus on growing in Christ.

You are never going to change the heart of another person so there’s no point in wasting your time focusing on what you wish would change.  God sometimes uses us to speak into someone else’s life, but you will know if that time comes and you will know for certain it is God speaking through you if you focus on God and nothing else!  The point is; that person may never change or their call may seem greater but is it really worth missing out on all God has for you because that is your focus?  As Jesus told Peter, “You follow me!”  Ask Him to help you today to keep your focus on Him in all you do!

I shared regarding my daily struggle a few weeks ago with you, I thank you so much for your daily devotions, I know God has a plan for my life… I heard “Chocolate & God” on the Joy F.M. Christian radio station and I’m so very thankful that I found you… today our pastor talked in 1 Samuel 24: 1-22 regarding Saul & David… I needed to hear this today… what a powerful story!!!! “Don’t take revenge” so I can have peace with God!!! “Let go and Let God” Show my fruits and don’t let anyone ever take my Joy away…. I have always known that but it is difficult at times…. I want to leave a Legacy of Integrity………

    Blessings,
