Don’t Give Up On The Power of Prayer Just Because You Haven’t Seen Your Answer Yet

Luke 1:13a  “But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias for thy prayer is heard;”

There are some things in your life that can only be put there by prayer!  I’m not talking about praying some repetitive prayer where we sound like a toddler, “God I want this, God, God, hey God, I want this……” I am talking serious heartfelt prayers seeking God and making it a daily routine to spend time alone with him, not just for you but seriously taking time for Him.

Prayer affects God and it also affects the person doing the praying.  When we pray and seek God’s face it is a life-changing experience if we allow it to be.  Think about it; you are in the presence of our Almighty God that is no small thing!  God, the creator of the universe and everything that exists or ever has existed is taking time out to hear you and to work in your life.  We shouldn’t just take that flippantly like it is no big deal; it is a very big deal!

God wants to hear our praise and thankfulness when we talk with Him as well.  He loves to be adored just like you do and as you praise Him and recognize once again who you are talking to and just how wonderful and powerful He is it gives you more confidence and faith in your situation!

As it says in Mark 9:29 some things only come through prayer and fasting.  I personally have only fasted when God has laid it on my heart to do so, but everyone is different and there are many different ways to fast.  The key is always to listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Just as it is important for you to pray for yourself and your family, do not miss out on the importance of intercessory prayer!  Remember the story of Abraham and Lot and how Abraham pleaded with God over Sodom and Gomorrah because he knew that was where Lot and his family lived and God rescued Lot.  We all need intercessory prayer so while you are on your knees ask God who you might be able to intervene in prayer for.  Be sensitive to the needs of the people God brings in to your life and don’t take praying for them lightly, it could make all the difference.

I am praying today for God to do a mighty work in all of our hearts to show us His perfect will and direction and for His blessing on each and every one of you today!

Quote:  “Graciousness is more than good manners.  It is more than courtesy.  It is the etiquette of the soul.  True graciousness has such a divine quality we feel it is something that comes through us and not from us.”  Fred Smith
