Don’t Go There if God isn’t Going Before You!

Exodus 33:13-18

Moses said to God, “Look, you tell me, ‘Lead this people,’ but you don’t let me know whom you’re going to send with me. You tell me, ‘I know you well and you are special to me.’ If I am so special to you, let me in on your plans. That way, I will continue being special to you. Don’t forget, this is your people, your responsibility.”  God said, “My presence will go with you. I’ll see the journey to the end.”  Moses said, “If your presence doesn’t take the lead here, call this trip off right now. How else will it be known that you’re with me in this, with me and your people? Are you traveling with us or not? How else will we know that we’re special, I and your people, among all other people on this planet Earth?”  God said to Moses: “All right. Just as you say; this also I will do, for I know you well and you are special to me. I know you by name.”  Moses said, “Please. Let me see your Glory.”

How important is it to you to know that God is with you in your plans? Moses told God to just forget the whole trip to the Promise land if He wasn’t going with them!  That is a pretty strong statement.  In other words, God if you aren’t going to lead me and be a part of all I do in 2011, I’m not moving forward in any area of my life, I’m not going to take that new job or get married to that guy, I’m not going to move my family.  I’m just going to sit here and not do a thing!  Sounds like a dull year, but if it was that important to have God’s leading in all you do that could be your decision.

Now ladies, I don’t really mean that you are so ridiculous that you don’t do anything with your life, but I do feel our attitudes should be set on having God’s guidance in major decisions in our life.  We need God’s blessing on our lives and His divine guidance in all we do.  It is His wisdom that will make our paths straight and successful and will keep us from all the detours that tend to make our lives so miserable and stressful.  There is nothing better and no greater peace than knowing you are in His perfect will and that whatever it is you are going through, Mountain tops or valleys that He is leading so you know He is in control and it will all come out for your good!

God will never lead you wrong and He truly wants His best for your life!  So if in 2010 you were set on your own course in life, kind of doing your own thing, how about just committing this year to asking God to lead you in all of your major decisions in life.  Start with the next 6 months and ask Him to create the attitude and mindset in your heart that He would like you to have and ask Him for the strength to allow Him to guide your life and trust Him with it all!  Ask Him to show YOU His Glory, just like Moses did. Seriously what have you got to lose?
