Don’t Hesitate To Ask For The “Little Things”

Please take the time to pray for others this weekend and share your prayer requests with us as well:  CLICK HERE

Genesis 7:6-7
Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters came upon the earth. And Noah and his sons and his wife and his sons wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood.

Can you imagine all the emotions that they must have felt when they headed into the ark to escape the flood. I am sure that during all the years of building the ark they tried to tell friends and family what was coming until they probably had to give up due to the mocking and ridicule and the hard hearts of the people they loved. I am sure they must have begged and pleaded but to no avail. Then there they were in the ark for a week with all the animals before the rains began to come down. Wow! Now, there they sit as the rains start to pound outside and then before you know it the Ark rocks a bit as it lifts off the ground due to the tremendous amount of water outside and Noah’s wife looks at him and says as any good wife would….. “are you sure you did everything just the way The Lord said to do it with this thing? Is everything covered with that tar stuff? Just askin…..”

God is a god of great details because details matter to Him. How about you? When God gives you something to do, are you lax or do you pay attention to the details He sets before you because let me tell you, you don’t want to wait until the boat starts to rock to get detailed. God’s plan for you and the lives of those you love have details that we don’t even realize until after the fact half the time. There are things I was taught years ago that for years seemed somewhat useless until now. Now I can look back over every thing God has done and I can see how things seem to fit together even though they often seemed random back then. If what you are doing right now seems insignificant to you and not what you feel called to do, maybe you are building your Ark and you need to pay attention to every detail of what you are learning. Maybe that horrific job or lack of one has a lesson somewhere that is going to help you with where you are headed so don’t sit there feeling sorry for your self ask Him what He is trying to teach you or how He is trying to use you in it!

God cares so much about the details in your life, He wishes you would pray about the seemingly little things! When my son was around 18 months and my husband was in Bible School and I was so sick of Mac and Cheese I just couldn’t eat it that night so we prayed for a pizza. I hurried up and gave him his bath so he would be ready for bed after the pizza came and then we went to the window to see if the pizza was there. We didn’t see anyone but a few minutes later there was a knock at the door. My sister and her husband had come over to visit. They came in and sat for a bit and we were chatting until finally they said, “you are going to think we are crazy but we were going to eat this frozen pizza when we thought maybe you would like to share it with us, so we brought it over!” Let me tell you that was the best frozen pizza I have ever had! God cares about your details, take them to Him with boldness, knowing it matters to Him!

Pay attention to the details today! The details matter to Him, whether they are things that are on your heart or things He has set before you to do. It all matters to Him! The best is yet to come ~ today, focus on the details!

Thank you so much for this great post! Every time I pray, I always ask Him to take care of the details. I didn’t realize just how much he takes care of me until this past weekend! I went away for some training for my travel business and had been concerned about the finances involved in it. The girl that I roomed with at the hotel ended up paying my portion!! She asked that I just pay it forward! I couldn’t believe it! And I made a new friend of a sister-in-Christ! God took care of the details 10-fold! He is always taking care of me!!
