Numbers 11:18
And say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat, for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was better for us in Egypt.”

When I first read this I had to stop for a minute because as you read on, God gave them meat and then He got really angry with them while they were eating it and my first thought was “why”? Why did God get angry? I mean, I can understand that the Manna was amazing and such an answer and yet we are human and I could understand them getting to a point after years of that being the only thing to eat saying, “if I have only Manna to look at to eat again, I don’t think I can handle it, oh how I would love some fruit, maybe a good salad”, Bill would be begging for a Ribeye! The problem wasn’t that they wanted different food! The problem was that they didn’t ask God and trust God to bless them with something else if they asked for it. They just started moaning and groaning about their circumstances and cursing the day that God brought them out of Egypt. They didn’t ask for a blessing they just complained.

How often are we just like that? We look around and we complain that the world seems to be going to Hell in a hand basket and post it all over social media, but we don’t dedicate time to pray and ask Him to bless us in spite of it or change what needs to be changed in us to make a difference. We need to rise up ladies and we need to pray like Abraham did when God was heading out to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. We need to ask for His mercy and protection over all of us around the world from the craziness! We need to ask Him to forgive us for where we have been complacent and ask for the strength to stand and protection while we do it! We need to pray for America and for Christians around the world. We need to pray for godly change instead of just complaining about how bad it is, whether it is in our personal situation or around the world! God can make changes, we need to pray! As it says in verse 23 of this chapter, ‘And the Lord said to Moses, “Is the Lord’s hand shortened? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not.” We need to ask! We can not just sit back saying, “well, it is close to the end times”. We need to pray to the end! We need to pray for people to believe truth and for God to open their eyes! God loves us, He wants us to ask for His goodness and blessing and protection! Let’s all come together praying for godly change in our lives and in the lives of others until it makes a difference around the world! Our hope is only found in Him and He is able! The best is yet to come!
