Don’t Stand in God’s Way!

Acts 11:17   “If then God gave the same gift to them as he gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ who was I that I could stand in God’s way?”

In this verse I know that Peter was talking about the salvation of the Gentiles and how God had revealed to him that he was not to call the Gentiles unclean if God was saying they are clean, but how often do we call someone “unclean” today because of mistakes they have made and we don’t give them the same grace that God gives us?

God gives us the gift of His forgiveness and a second chance so why is it so hard at times for Christians to give others the same?  God always has Plan B when we mess up Plan A and who are we that we should stand in God’s way?

Maybe you aren’t giving yourself the same grace that God has given you!  Are you holding yourself back from following the will of God because you messed things up and you allowed sin to throw you off track?  Jesus died for those sins on the cross and we truly need to accept that forgiveness and not allow Satan to have victory in our lives by thinking we will never be used again.  God is so much bigger than that!

If you or someone you know is struggling today because of mistakes made in the past, and by past I mean, yesterday, a year ago, ten years ago – it’s all the past, stop for a minute and accept God’s grace for the situation and allow Him to show you how to move forward either for yourself or to help someone else move forward in their life.  Let’s strive to not allow good men and women to be left behind – push forward with God’s grace and forgiveness and push to not only be all you can be but to help all of those around you be all they can be for God!
