Don’t Take Things into Your Own Hands

Jeremiah 29:11  “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

God is good, not only that; God is ALWAYS good!  He knows the plans He has for you; it is time to rest in that fact and quit trying to make it happen!  He knows the plan so why are we constantly trying to “do it” ourselves?

I find sometimes I get so caught up in the doing that I lose track of the fact I am not the planner and then I wander off the path I should be on so the plan God has for me ends up sitting on the shelf while I do my own thing.  It is too easy for me to get sidetracked at times and start putting things that shouldn’t be number one in my life over the things God has ordained to be first and it throws my whole life off balance.

We have a GPS and some days I am not sure why really.  I have always been so good driving places I have never been and I have found my way through places as tough as inner city Detroit without a GPS but none the less we have one. She drives Bill absolutely crazy!  He keeps threatening to throw her out the window but due to littering laws she is still here! “She” drives us absolutely crazy at times!  One evening, after a long day of flying, we were traveling in California and she was directing us to the hotel.  We came to a stop light where she told us to turn right so we did and we had a very nice tour of a California subdivision.   The road circled right around to the road we were on, took us back to the stop light we were just at and told us to turn into the shopping area and our hotel was in the back!  That was almost the death of her!  We can be like that though too; God gives us direction for our lives just like the satellite up in the sky gives that little gps direction and at times we wander around subdivisions taking detours that just take up more time getting us to where we are suppose to be.

So ladies today let’s pray that God will give us constant little reminders through out the day when we start to take things into our own hands so we can allow Him to guide us through our day.  Don’t allow other people to dictate your day, give your day each day to God and allow Him to direct it.  I believe we will all find we will be by far more prosperous in the things we accomplish.

As it says in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your paths.
