Don’t Wait for the Right Feelings ~ Do it Because it is Right

Isaiah 1:1   If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.

In this chapter God was telling the people that their sacrifices meant nothing to Him, they were making Him sick because they were living in rebellion.  He didn’t want their sacrifices He wanted their hearts!  He wanted them to turn to Him and love Him and honor Him with their lives, their sacrifices were to be an outward show of what was in their hearts not just a ritual.  Most of us have all felt that way with someone; they say the love us and yet there’s nothing in their behavior to show us that their words are true and it breaks our heart.

God’s heart is capable of breaking too.  He just wants to be loved and adored, He doesn’t just want sacrifice, like dragging yourself to church on Sunday.  His words in this verse come after His plea to them to truly clean up their lives and serve Him right because His desire was to bless them and to give them the good of the land.  God wants to give you the good of your land as well.  He loves you more than words can express and His desire is for you to enjoy a close walk with Him where He can bless you and protect you.

Is there an area in your life that God has been speaking to you about that you need to do for the right reasons, not just because it is expected?  Is there something you should be doing that you aren’t?  Maybe there is something you have been doing and God would rather you let it go and you just spent the time working on your walk with Him.  Our service to God needs to be for Him and only Him, not for the praise of others or the feelings of pride it can bring, we need to serve Him with our whole hearts because we love Him and because it is right.  Don’t wait for “right feelings” to do what is right, love God and seek Him and do what is right by Him and trust me your “right feelings” will follow if you are truly seeking to honor Him!  Rely on God for all that you do and as long as you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land!  Claim that victory today!
