Encouragement

Proverbs 12:25    Anxiety weighs down the heart but a kind word cheers it up.

Let me ask you ladies a silly question:  have you ever known anyone that was a bit down?

So often when we have a friend that is down and out we think the best thing to do is take her side on whatever it is she is down about.  We just want to make our other girlfriends feel better so sometimes we mistakenly think that if we just say things we think she wants to hear it will make her feel better.  That is not always the case for example, sometimes when I am frustrated and down it is because I have a misconception of the situation and the last thing I really need is for a friend to come along side me and get on the band wagon and encourage me on in my wrong thinking.

The best thing we can do for each other when we are true friends is to speak the truth in kindness and encourage in that truth.  If she is right then encourage her in that but if you know that she is frustrated and down pray for the right encouraging words.  It does no good to encourage someone down the wrong path they just end up more frustrated and down hearted.

Take the time today to encourage those around you and lift them up with encouraging and affirming words, you will be amazed at how much it will bless YOU.

Quote:  “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”  Ralph Waldo Emerson
