Psalm 32:1-4  Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.  When I kept silent, my bones grew old Through my groaning all the day long.  For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My vitality was turned into the drought of summer.  Selah

Hidden sin will eat you alive!  When we choose to live in sin and rebel there is no rest, peace or comfort, our lives become treacherous as David describes in these verses.  It never pays to keep quiet when we are struggling with sin in our lives.

Some sin actually needs to be confessed to others when we have sinned against them.  True healing in relationships start with a clean slate, asking for forgiveness and accepting apologies is the beginning of the path to healing.  Be careful here though that you aren’t walking up to someone at church and telling them something they didn’t need to know.  Don’t allow Satan to take your excitement for getting your heart and life right with God and destroy a relationship because you confess to people who don’t need to know.  In other words this is not the time to go tell Mildred that you need to confess that you told Georgette that you think her hair is the ugliest mess you have ever seen and you just want her to know you are sorry.

Sometimes the only way to have victory over sin in a certain area of our life is to acknowledge the struggle to another lady (don’t go to the opposite sex) that you feel you can trust and ask her to walk with you.  We can have victory over some sins easier if we have an accountability partner.  Having that 1 person you can call when you are struggling can make all the difference in the world!

Most sin can just be confessed to God and left there and you need to quit allowing it to surface in your mind.  In other words, once God has forgiven you, you need to forgive yourself.  You can’t have victory if you are beating yourself up over the things He has chosen to not even remember!

Claim victory today if you have a sin that is just eating you up inside!  Free yourself from it like David did and confess and allow yourself to glory in the freedom of forgiveness and God’s grace!  You can’t experience God’s best if you are wallowing in your sin or your past – let it go and move forward to be used by God to the best of your abilities He has already placed within you!
