Jeremiah 10:23
O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself. It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

Yesterday I came across an ad for a Ladies Seminar that is meant to help women dig deep within themselves to find what they are missing. It talked about how women have come so far in the world with jobs and education but they felt that women were feeling a void inside but the answers they were offering were far from godly answers. Are we feeling a void inside, do we feel as though we aren’t enough or we are not all that we should be? Yes, the majority of women feel they are lacking in some area but the answer can only be found in who you are in Christ!

God made us with a “God void” and only He can fill it and we can only feel fulfilled in life if we are doing what He has called us to do. Of course nothing else can fill us up! A job isn’t going to fill every need you have to feel as though you have succeeded. True success in life is found in doing what God has called us to do and being content in that! I know women who have had a tough time making the transition from a full time job to a stay at home Mom and wife and yet they knew that was what God was asking them to do! I know of women who work jobs that are tough because it is like Sodom and Gomorrah in their offices and they felt as though God had called them to full time Christian service some where – the work place in the United States may be the biggest mission field you could ever be called to, you don’t have to go overseas to be a missionary.

Here’s the problem; when we begin trying “strange things” like seeking an inner source outside of God to guide us or we look within ourselves thinking the answers are all in there we are headed down a dangerous path. God is the only one who knows the way you need to take, He knows what will make you feel fulfilled in life, He created you to be all that you are called to be but you must allow Him to fill that void and lead you. Don’t be dragged away by some worldly idea that you will find your answers in anything or anyone else other than God. Allow God to empower you to be all He created you to be and that is when you will find your success.

God loves you and He wants to lead and guide you throughout your life. The world is ready and willing to pour answers into you as well – choose wisely. If the answers you are hearing don’t line up with God’s word then run the other way! Seek Him and allow Him to guide you today.

I have been trying to figure out what God wants me to do with my life. It seems like I find an answer, only to have it slam shut. With my depression and anxiety it’s sometimes hard to just sit still and concentrate. I need to learn to be quiet so I can hear God.

How do you know when God points you in a certain direction? I tried going back to school many times. I want to work with abused women. But it seems like at every attempt that door is slammed shut and dead bolted. I’m currently out of work and it’s been a nightmare for my husband. I need to go back to work, but my anxiety is getting the better of me. I don’t know if maybe this is what God wants? For me to be home taking care of my family? Or to go through even more trials? I just don’t know. I will try and pray about it. Maybe God will come through with an answer.
