Follow His Example in Grace and Love

Matthew 7:12. “So, whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”

We all have to admit that how others treat us is very important to us.  Are you as concerned about how you treat others?  We need to be more attentive to how we treat others with our words and behaviors even if it is only for the sake of our testimony.

Ask yourself this question:  if someone else treated you or talked to you the way you do them what would you think and how would it make you feel?

Jesus was a great example of showing others grace and love.  Did He ever get angry or frustrated?  Yes, but He didn’t sin in His anger even when He threw the money changers out of the temple.  Jesus showed compassion to everyone He met, He loved people and we can do the same with His help.

If you are struggling with someone in this area pray and ask God to help you love them.  Ask God to fill you with His love toward them and for Him to help you respond to them in a way that they will see Him through you.  1 Corinthians chapter 13 talks about love and the fruit of truly loving others, I think most of us would struggle to meet all of those definitions but we can love better than we do today.  If there is one thing so many people are missing today it is to see love.  There are a lot of hurting people out there, a lot of which are children and they need someone to come alongside them and show them God’s love for them.

We are not limited by age, race or finances to show the love of Christ to others, so I would encourage you today to ask Him to show you any areas you are lacking His love for someone else.  Ask Him to show you how to love others better.  Love will change another person’s heart and life faster than all of the instructions and criticism you can muster.  Allow God to love others through you today!

Quote:  “Graciousness is more than good manners.  It is more than courtesy.  It is the etiquette of the soul.  True graciousness has such a divine quality we feel it is something that comes through us and not from us.”  Fred Smith
