Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.

How much better would our relationships in life be whether at home, work or on the street if we made this our prayer every day? If your thoughts (meditations of your heart) and your words were all pleasing and acceptable to God just think of the difference it would make in your life and the lives of those you encounter.

There’s really no such thing as just a ‘thoughtless word’ our words are a product of what is in our heart. Our heart is filled with what we spend our time ‘meditating on’. Fill you heart with the words of God, Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things.” So, what do you spend your time thinking about and focusing on? Are they the things you should be focusing on? Are you being negative or are you focusing on God and His power in your life? Focus on God and His power in your life, meditate on His word and allow Him to change what needs to be changed, whether in you, someone else or life in general.

Proverbs 16:3, “Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.” Do you have something you need to do but the thoughts surrounding it are overwhelming you? My suggestion would be to just get busy doing what God is telling you to do, allow Him to lead you in what needs to be done and then your thoughts will follow. Commit your work first and then your thoughts will be established because your focus is on Him!

If you focus on God and meditate on His word, Satan won’t be able to get in and make you doubt. Satan has a way of telling us to “just wait until tomorrow to get started’ (and tomorrow never comes) or “this is never going to work, you will never be able to handle all of this.” God never intended for you to go it alone so keep Philippians 4:13 in mind, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!”

Whatever you are facing today if you will just give your thoughts and words to Him the rest will fall into place in His way and in His time! Don’t give up and don’t lose hope, the best is yet to come!
