God Created You to Do Great Things!

1 Samuel 16: But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him.  For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Don’t worry so much about what others think, do what you are called to do.  There are always going to be naysayers and people who will want to hold you back making you feel as though you “can’t do that” but if God has called you to do something He has already equipped you to do it.

I love the saying, “God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called”!  That is so very true and God seems to love to use the most unlikely of us to do the most unlikely things.  God has a plan for each of us and they are important to Him that is why He made you the way He did!  You have the gifts and talents you need to be able to do all He has created you to be.  We have become a society that puts way to much emphasis on the way someone looks instead of what their gifts and talents are.  It doesn’t matter how you look as long as you are carrying yourself in a godly manner, not wearing inappropriate clothing etc.  No one can look at your physical appearance and determine whether or not you are capable of doing what God has called you to do.  Remember, just as this story goes in Samuel; “When others see a shepherd boy – God may see a king!”

If you are the one judging others by their appearance I would encourage you to think of what God may think of your opinion – he did create that other person just the way they are and we will answer for all of those thoughts and words.

Let’s all start today to make our focus being all we are created to be and more than just that; let’s start looking for the gifts and talents in others to help them be all they can be as well!  When you realize who you are in Christ not only are you more able to do His will but you will feel better about yourself and you will be able to help others feel better about themselves as well.  No more being critical of yourself or others – dig deeper than that and find the you God created you to be!
