God Has a Plan!

Joshua 13:1  Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and the Lord said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess.”

You know you are old when God tells you that you are old! Wow!  I’m not sure as a woman how I would have quite handled that.

I have a wonderful sister that we have always given a hard time because she always hated getting older even when she was young.  She ended up teaching Kindergarten for years and of course if there’s a child on earth that will make age comments about or to their teacher it would be a 5 or 6 year old.  One day she showed her class a picture of her shaking hands with President Reagan before he was President and one little boy went home and told his mom, “today Mrs Aenis showed us a picture of her shaking hands with George Washington!”  Of course his mom thought it was hysterical so she called her to say, “just how old are you?”

My point with this verse is this; your age has nothing to do with what you are called to do!  You aren’t too young and you are never too old either, to do what God is calling you to do!  Notice that after he commented on Joshua being old He told him that there was still a lot to do.  God recognized that Joshua may not be able to fight the way He did when he was younger so God was going to drive people out of the land and He was giving Joshua his orders for what he still needed to do.

Take a look around and stop making excuses for not serving God in some way.  If you are here on earth God has a purpose for your life and no matter what you do in life you can serve Him with your attitudes and behaviors.  Do you work in a way that shows you are a child of God or do you just go in and do what is expected.  Sometimes we expect our service to be something that just involves the church but our service for Him is in all we do whether it is at work, home or in the church.  Don’t miss out on an opportunity to serve God today for any reason, start today and ask Him to show you what can do to better serve Him with your life.
