God Has Heard Your Grumbling

Exodus 16:11-12   And the Lord said to Moses, “I have heard the grumbling of the people of Israel.  Say to them, At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread.  Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.”

The Lord has heard your grumbling, so after He provides His Manna for you how will you handle it?  Some of the Israelites were grateful and obedient and only gathered what they were told and others had to try to gather extra.  God wanted their obedience and love and His desire was always to provide for them to increase their faith.  For some of the Israelites their faith was increased and for some they were just rebellious and found something else to grumble about.

No matter what God did for them they grumbled:  He delivered them from the land of Egypt and they grumbled that He did it just to kill them in the wilderness – Really?  He gave them food and they tried to cheat with that and of course it spoiled and was wormy.  He provided meat and manna and they finally grumbled because even though they did nothing to get it, it was catered to them every day, they were tired of it.  (40 years is a long time, but still)  He brought them to the Promised Land and after all He had shown them in the wilderness their fear of the Giants was greater than their faith in His promise!

How is your faith this morning?  Will you allow faith or fear to win the battle today?  Will you grumble and complain or will you be thankful for all God has already done in your life?  I have yet to see how grumbling makes us feel better.  God is faithful and we are very fortunate that He is because just like the Israelites we must truly try His patience at times.  God loves you and will provide, take the time this morning and thank Him for all that He has done and for what He is about to do.  He has heard your grumbling and He will bring this all to pass so you shall know that He is the Lord your God!  Give Him the thanks He deserves and then bless Him with your faithfulness and allow this to grow your faith in HIm!

God, please help us today to turn our grumbling into gratefulness and forgive us for our lack of faith and obedience in the past.  Help us today to follow you in your will for each of our lives so others will see you and want to know you!  I pray that we will have your favor in all that we do so the world will see that you are the Lord our God!
