God Has Heard Your Prayer

1 Samuel 1:16-18
Do not regard your servant as a worthless woman, for all along I have been speaking out of my great anxiety and vexation.” Then Eli answered, “Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition that you have made to him.” And she said, “Let your servant find favor in your eyes.” Then the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.

This is part of the story of Hannah, Samuel’s Mom. She was so tormented by Penninah, her husband’s other wife because Hannah hadn’t had any children yet and she was pouring out her heart to God when Eli the priest saw her and thought she was drunk. When he realized how tormented she was and saw she was truly just pleading with God, he blessed her and sent her on her way. The key here is this; after she was told that God would grant her request she went back to the table and was no longer sad. She had the faith to believe that it would be so and Penninah could try to torment all she wanted but it wasn’t going to work any more!

Do you have a “Penninah” in your life or do you have a prayer request that has just overwhelmed and burdened you? Is there any reason that you know of, that would cause God to not answer your prayer? Have you asked God to show you His will even if the answer is no? I would encourage you today to pour your heart out to God and plead your case, remind Him of this story and ask Him to do the same for you, and when you get your answer do as Hannah did and go your way in the faith and confidence that God is on your side and has heard your prayer and will bring it to pass! There’s no more reason for sadness, He will come through! Ask God for a verse today or ask Him to clarify it through another person and then trust Him to bring the right answers to pass!

God loves you and truly has your best interest at heart. I know what it is like to beg for answers and to have to wait, but I know that when I cannot understand or see what He is doing I can always trust God’s heart!
