God Is Not Behind Your Fear

Isaiah 41:13  For I the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.

So often I can find myself facing a situation stressed and literally fearful of the outcome looking for an answer or way out because I can’t see past the mountain right in front of me.  How about you?  Do you ever feel as though you need to “do something” or find someone to give you the answer you are looking for or maybe just to give you that nudge to continue because the fear of what you don’t know is starting to overwhelm you?

God is not the one behind fear – fear is the opposite of faith and He wants you to trust Him!  He loves you and He is holding your right hand to lead you if you will just trust Him and allow Him to comfort you through it all.  He always, always, always has a plan, He isn’t like some college kid that hits the road saying, “I’m just going to see where I end up .”  He has mapped out every step of your life in a way that will bring about all He has planned.  What you want to be careful of is taking that detour you were thinking about other than following His leading.  Sometimes we wonder why God’s will takes so long and yet it is because we have managed to take the long way around doing our own thing or looking for answers outside of Him.

God doesn’t want you to be fearful, He will help you!  He has proven Himself faithful over and over to us, He is trustworthy and He will bring to pass all He has promised.  If you are struggling today in what you are facing I would encourage you to take this verse with you wherever you go.  Write it out on a little card and when Satan tries to discourage you just pull this little verse out and read it and rebuke Satan and remind Him that it is God who is holding your hand and leading you and walking with you.  Don’t allow Him the opportunity to rob you of your joy on your journey because there are better things ahead if you just keep following God’s leading.  Satan is fearful of what you may accomplish if you continue and that is why He is fighting all that you are doing.  Hold tight to God’s hand and allow Him to fill you with His peace.  Know that He loves you and is guiding you into something better.

Think about this for a moment today; God doesn’t move us forward into something new if we haven’t grown into it so if He is moving you from something comfortable into something that is literally scaring you or frustrating you to death it is because He sees you have grown up for this new task.  Wow!  It will all be worth it when you get to the other side of your fear and you land on your feet, holding His hand, doing what He is calling you to do.  Trust Him!  The best is yet to come!

I so needed this reminder right now… My problem however is not the trusting or fear part, it’s the waiting part that frustrates me… I just NEED to know where He’s leading me so I could plan accordingly… it’s like: “Ok, God, so I’m excited about this next adventure you’re leading me on, BUT, I need to know where we’re going so I know what to bring, what do I need, how can I prepare….” That’s the answer I’m seeking and praying for still, esp. since I have to decide on my lease by July 31st, among numerous other decisions that are based on where I’m going to be working! 🙂

Believe me I hear you on that one! I feel very much in limbo at times but it just means He wants us to trust Him to work out those details even if they are last minute, as difficult as that is. 🙂 I’ll be praying for you!
