God is the God of The Mountains AND The Valleys

1 Kings 20:28  Then a man of God came and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Because the Syrians have said, “The LORD is God of the hills, but He is not God of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the LORD.'”

It is easy to acknowledge God’s presence in our lives when we are having a mountain top experience and everything is going good but what about when you are in the valleys of life?  Do you get angry with God thinking He doesn’t care or somehow isn’t there?  God is obviously very sensitive about that according to this verse.

God wants more than anything to be there for you when you are struggling! He hasn’t gone anywhere to do something more important and no He hasn’t gone to sleep.  Satan is always ready with his lies to get right in there when you are down to tell you that God doesn’t care and that is why you are in that situation.  God loves you more than you are even capable of loving anyone so why would He want you to hurt?  He allows things in our lives at times for our growth and sometimes it is just because He doesn’t interfere with our “free will”.  God doesn’t make us do what is best for us we have the choice to do right or not and when we don’t it affects us and those around us.

Whatever it is you are dealing with today be encouraged that God is the God of the valleys no matter how big or small that valley is and He will defeat our enemies if we give Him the opportunity.  Your mountain top experience is coming so don’t let this valley keep you down!  The best is yet to come!
