Galatians 5:22-23. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law.

For some reason this morning when I thought of this verse it made me think of a bouquet of flowers.  It could be because it is beautiful outside, well at least from this chair looking out the window it is!  The sun is shining, the grass is green the trees are starting to bud, it looks like Spring may finally be here, even though it is freezing outside.  

Back to the bouquet of flowers;  I love to have a fresh bouquet of flowers on my table.  It just seems to bring the room to life!  I have had all different types of bouquets over the years, but rarely is it just one kind of flower.  The most beautiful bouquets are usually made up of several different types of flowers and colors, maybe a little babies breath, etc.  My point is that a bouquet can be like the fruits of the Spirit, the more of the “fruit” you allow in your life, the more beautiful your life is!  We have the Holy Spirit living in us once we accept Jesus as our Savior, so there’s no excuse to not have all of the Fruits of His presence flowing from us.  The only reason they don’t is that we don’t allow them to.  If you don’t have self-control then that is a choice.  If you aren’t kind, then that is a choice.  We have a choice; how much of the Holy Spirit’s characteristics do we want evident in our lives.  The more we allow, the more our lives will reflect God and His goodness.  

God wants to shine in and through your life!  Are you open today to His leading and filling you with all that He is so your life will shine for Him?  Are you open to living a life that is open to His leading?  Are you willing to let go of the things He says need to go?  Don’t cling to something because of foolish reasons.  I know people who just won’t give up reading certain books or watching certain tv shows because somehow they seem to believe that they are proving that there’s nothing wrong with it.  Really?  Just because everyone else is watching something or reading it, doesn’t mean you need to.  Start asking God to guide you in every area of your life!  Don’t hold anything back from Him!  If you want true success in this life, choose Him!  Choose His leading and His standard for your life today!  Don’t waste another minute!  Allow Him to make something beautiful of your life!  Something that will change the lives of those around you!  Trust Him!  The best is yet to come!
