Hold On To Your Faith

Isaiah 7:9b   “If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all.”

If you were to measure your faith today, on a scale of one to ten, where would it be?

It can be easy to get discouraged when it seems as though life just throws one thing after the next at you and you don’t feel as though you even have time to catch your breath.  Believe me, we have had some overwhelming days, weeks, months and even years when we just felt as though it was just one thing after the next until we hardly knew which way was up any more.  It’s times like those that we really need to focus in on God and who He is in order to maintain our faith.

When we focus on God and who He is it makes what we are facing seem small.  If we lose sight of God in the middle of what we are facing we lose perspective on the entire situation and that is when we become overwhelmed and fearful.  God does not force Himself into our situations but He is always waiting and willing to help us when we give it all to Him.  Where there is no faith, there is no hope.

Hebrews 11:6  “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.”  We cannot please God if we don’t have the faith to believe that He is able to take care of anything we are facing whether it is your health, finances, marriage issues, children, your job, whatever you are facing today God can handle it if you give it to Him!  God is always good so trust Him today to do what is best for you and your situation.

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

If you are lacking in faith today, ask God to bless you with more faith for your situation.  Write down these verses and keep them with you.  Know that God cares and He will bring to pass all that He has promised.  Hold on to your faith and hope in Him and remain faithful to all that He has called you to.

Thank you for your article! I really liked the point you made about how if we focus on God and all that He is, the challenges we face in our own lives seem very small in comparison. I also really liked what you said about how if we do lack faith, we should ask God to bless us, like the example in the Bible where the man pleaded with the Savior with increase his faith as he asked for the Lord to heal his son. thanks again!

I think our faith grows by the Father. I think he allows circumstances into our lives to lean on Him and to see His glory fall upon us. I just have to keep my eyes on Him and remember His promises are true and HE is faithful – even when I slip and fall down. He gets me up and brushes me off as I cling to him even as if it is in the result of falling.
