Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths.

I remember one night when my children were really little, my son was 5 and the other two were 2 1/2 years old and about 4 months. My husband was working nights so on Wednesday evenings I would catch a ride with another couple to church. One night they dropped me and the children off at home and I walked into the garage and realized I didn’t have the key to get in the house and someone had locked the door going from the garage into the living room! I ran back outside to try to catch them, but they were already gone! Now, I will definitely date myself here, but we didn’t have cell phones back then so I couldn’t just call my “landlord” and ask him to come let me in or call the couple that just left to ask them to give me a ride to the landlord’s house either which was about a half mile away. I took a look outside and it was pitch black, there were clouds covering the sky so there wasn’t even a tiny star to help light the way. We lived out in the middle of no where. I knew what I was going to have to do, I was going to have to walk down that sandy, dirt road to my landlord’s house with kids in tow, in high heels in pitch blackness! Before I stepped out of that garage, I prayed! I prayed for God to help me find my way, to somehow help me see where I was going and to protect us from any wild animals that could be out there as well. I started walking down the driveway, my children, quite reluctant, but holding my hands, thank God for infant carriers, and before we reached the end of the driveway, a hole opened up in the clouds and the moon shown through! I have never been so grateful to God to see the moon as I was on that night! We walked down to the landlords house and he drove us back and on the way he asked how on earth I could see to get to his house, it was pitch black out! He was a very godly man so when I told him about the moon, he just laughed and said that made sense, that God is good like that!

Are you feeling today like you are in utter darkness in your situation? Are you needing God to lead and yet the way seems completely hopeless because you just can’t see how it could possibly “work out for your good”? I am here to tell you, He is able! Nothing is too difficult for Him and nothing is too small of a matter for Him to care! That moonlight was only there long enough for me to leave that driveway and to knock on their door and it was gone! Here’s the deal though, the moon didn’t peak through those clouds until I stepped out and trusted God to get us where we needed to go! Was I scared before I stepped out? Yes! If it were just me walking that would have been bad enough, but I had 3 small children! I had no choice but to trust God if I wanted that door unlocked. If there is a door you need unlocked in your life, it may be time to pray and step out in faith believing that He will light your way! He will give you what it takes to get to your answer! Believe Him and trust Him and get started Girl! Don’t wait for His light to show up first, trust that when you need it, it will be there! Step out in faith today knowing that the best is yet to come!
