Is Your Answer At The Door?

Acts 12:12-16    So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.  And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a girl named Rhoda came to answer.  When she recognized Peter’s voice, because of her gladness she did not open the gate, but ran in and announced that Peter stood before the gate. But they said to her, “You are beside yourself!” Yet she kept insisting that it was so. So they said, “It is his angel.”  Now Peter continued knocking; and when they opened the door and saw him, they were astonished.

The blessing and answer to prayer was standing at the gate and the people praying were arguing because they just knew it couldn’t possibly be true.  Is your answer to your prayer banging on the gate of your life while you stand there thinking that the answer couldn’t possibly have come?  This must be where the line came from “for Pete’s sake”  open the gate!  There are times when the answer is so obviously right in front of someone and everyone can see it but the person praying because they are too busy thinking.  Ouch!  I sure have been guilty of this myself lately!

What blessing of health or maybe finances or maybe even answers to relationships are you waiting for and it’s waiting for you but you just can’t seem to grasp God’s answer as being truly from Him.  I know of people with health issues that refuse the obvious and continue to be ill because they can’t seem to find the answer, there are too many people with marriage issues that will do anything other than receive counsel, there are too many of us that struggle with finances in America because we can’t accept the answer of “no, don’t buy that right now.”

I would encourage each of us today to ask God if that is His answer waiting at the gate and if it is, “for Pete’s sake” open it today and start moving forward!  Stop arguing about it and accept God’s answer.  Sometimes we don’t fully see the blessing of God until we open the gate and start moving forward in what He is showing us to do.  You could be suffering needlessly simply because you aren’t listening.  Ask God today to make His path clear to you today – what are you waiting for?
