It Will Be Worth The Wait

Psalm 40: 1-3  I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.  He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my fee upon a rock making my steps secure.  He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Everyone I know is waiting for something.  What are you waiting for?  Are you waiting patiently for God to move or are you fed up deciding to find another way?  As difficult as it is to wait I want the results David had.  I want to be set up on a rock with my steps secure and a new song of praise so others will see and trust the Lord!

When children want something they are usually not very patient about it.  I have a grandson who is 2 and he is greatly lacking in patience when he wants something.  I fear God often looks down at me and feels as though I am just like that with Him.  We always used to say, “good things come to those who wait!” but after the sayings of, “if it feels good do it” and “just do it” and our whole microwave society set in where everything comes to us in an instant we seem to have more and more difficulty waiting on God like we should.  It is amazing to me that we live in a society of people, some of which grew up without cell phones and yet most can’t even make it through dinner without answering their phone, it is a day of instant answers and as a result we somehow have begun to think God is supposed to react the same way.  It doesn’t work that way!

God hasn’t changed!  He still has your best interest in mind in all that He has planned for you!  He will bring it to pass in His time, not yours!  He loves you and if it is taking more time than you think it should remember that it could be because of the greatness of the plan and all that it will affect.  God is not indifferent about what is going on and He is interested in doing the best job possible for you so trust Him today to do it!  Put all of your trust in Him today and know that as a result of all that He is doing others will see Him through it!  The best is yet to come!
