Matthew 5: 14-16
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

The fog has rolled in once again this morning here in Middle Tennessee. Everything looks fuzzy out across the yards but the lights on the neighbors house across the way are clear as day!

We live in a world where so many things seem unclear and “foggy” to people who don’t know God. They aren’t sure who God is and they seem to see more gray than black and white when it comes to what is right and wrong! We need to be the light that shows them who God is. Our lives need to shine through the fog so they can see. We need to let our lives, not just our words reflect who God is so others are drawn to Him. The more time you spend with Him, the brighter your light will shine. The more control you give Him the more you will reflect who He is!

Seek Him today! You cannot fake being His light! This is not a “fake it till you make it” kind of thing. You must seek Him and spend time with Him. Your focus in life will reflect either darkness or light. Matthew 6:22-23 says, “The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” What is your focus (what are your eyes focussed on) today? Are you focused on Him or are you focussed on what you want out of life? “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” If your focus is Him, then your desires will be His.

God loves you and wants His best for you! He isn’t trying to withhold good from you, like Satan will try to get you to believe! Satan has used that lie since he tricked Eve into thinking that back in the garden! Don’t believe the lie! Know that God loves you and the more you get to know Him the brighter your light will shine. He has a plan (Jeremiah 29;11) and the best is yet to come!
