Acts 18:1 After this Paul left Athens and went to Corinth.
We all have an “after this”! No matter what you are doing today there is an “after this.” God isn’t finished with you yet and He is continuously planning and working on your behalf so after this you can move forward to serve Him in an even mightier way whether it is through that promotion at work, marriage, having children, or maybe making a decision to move or maybe even become the missionary you have always known you were supposed to be.
Don’t get discouraged if you have been waiting a long time for your “after this” because it is right around the bend. God hasn’t forgotten and you have to remember He is a patient God and He works things out in His time. Maybe you have felt called to do something and your spouse has been your greatest obstacle, well God isn’t finished with them yet either so pray and trust that God will bring it to pass – If He has called you to it you need to trust that in His time He will work all things out!
Maybe you aren’t sure what is “after this”, maybe you are facing uncertainties for what is coming next, due to illness or loss of a job, whatever it is trust God just as it says in Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” There is still hope, don’t let go of your hope because God isn’t going to let you down. Hang on the answer is just around the corner of your life and it will be great – God has a future planned for you and He is a great God. Those obstacles that look dismal in your life are there for growth remember? Allow God to work in your life to make you stronger during this time of struggle and grow in Him so your are prepared for whatever comes around the bend. These times of waiting are for your preparation for what is next in life. There are always going to be tough times in our lives because we live in an imperfect world but it isn’t just that; sometimes we need tough times in our lives to bring out the best in us and for us to grow to trust God more. Cling to Him and trust Him to do what is best even if you can’t see it right now. The best is yet to come and it may be “after this”.
