John 16:33
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

You can have peace in your “tribulation”. This verse makes it very clear that as long as we live on this earth, we will have struggles and life isn’t easy but we are to take heart because all of our answers are found in Jesus.

Sounds all cozy and simple, but we all know it isn’t, life can be very hard at times and can seem very overwhelming! If you are overwhelmed today, you are trying to fight a battle that isn’t yours to fight! Jesus says in this verse, “take heart, I have overcome the world!” He will fight for you! He has all the answers! It isn’t your place to figure out the “how” or the “why”, it is your place to follow Him and be obedient. You don’t have to come up with the plan for how this is all going to turn out or how to make it work! God has all the answers and He will guide you if you will just follow Him! I have the most difficult time with that some days! I so want to figure it all out! I don’t want to wait, I just want it taken care of and I want it over with now! So, God, here is what I think we should do…… is what I find myself saying as He reminds me, “no, Janet, it isn’t your position to figure it out, it is your place to just follow and allow me to handle things my way!” But I had such a great plan……..

Uhmmmmm, yeah, I haven’t quite found a moment where God needed or asked for my advice. I have offered quite a bit, but have found that my plans have never been as good as His. You know how it can be Girl, when your hormones kick in some days; well it is on those days that God has had to remind me at times that if he killed everyone I asked Him to, there wouldn’t be many people left in my life! (I am just kidding, but you know what I mean!) Some days, just about everyone you know may get under your skin because you are desperately trying to figure out the struggle you are in, so you find yourself struggling to not be hateful to everyone else. Stop trying to figure it all out! There! Problem solved! It isn’t yours to figure out! I am reminding myself of this too! I have to tell myself that over and over some days! Let it go, be obedient, follow Him and allow Him to work out His will! This is why Jeremiah 29:11 has become one of my favorite verses, “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans for good and not for evil, plans to give you a future and a hope!” Relax! Trust Him, He’s got this! The best is yet to come!
