Keep Pushing Forward

Philippians 3:14
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

What is your call today? We all have a call of God on our lives if we have accepted Him as our Savior and we are living for Him there is always something we are called to do. We so often think if we aren’t called to be missionaries or speakers, preachers or preachers wives then we are just to go along in life without any serious call. That is simply not true! There are always people around us who need to be taught about God. Maybe today you are at home teaching your children or grandchildren, that is a serious call of God. Maybe you have a job you can’t stand or one that is so taxing you feel as though some days you wonder why you are doing it ~ there’s always someone who needs to be shown the love of God that will cross your path (it could be that person who is most driving you crazy!) Whatever you are doing today, if God has led you there, it is for a reason.

There are times that the job we have is training grounds for what is next. God is always moving in a forward direction so everything has a purpose in it’s time. Don’t lose heart because of where you are or what you are doing today, keep pressing forward because God isn’t finished with you yet. If you are seeking Him you are always being trained for something bigger and better and sometimes you will find that may be right where you are. There are no minor jobs if you are helping reach people for God.

I remember getting frustrated a couple years ago because no matter what I did to try to find a job, God seemed to slam the door. It just didn’t make any sense to me at all. I was more than qualified for the jobs I was applying for and I was getting frustrated. Then Bill’s mom was diagnosed with cancer and she wanted to stay home. She lived in the “mother in-law” suite attached to our house and ended up needing daily care, eventually 24 hours a day. If I had had a job, I would have either had to quit or we would have had to hire someone to come in to care for her. God knew what was coming down the road and He was making a way for things to be taken care of.

Don’t underestimate what God is doing in and through you! Keep pressing forward for His call on your life no matter how dull or frustrating what you are doing today is! Trust Him that He has a reason for everything. Make a difference in others lives right where you are now because you don’t know where you will be tomorrow, God may move you on to do something new. Trust Him to always direct you as you follow Him, press forward to be all you can be right where you are!

It’s so wonderful to have ready your blog post today! I actually just started “chocolate and God” today. So, I decided to read your blog too and it matches exactly what is going on in my life right now, well kind of. My finance graduated college in May and is still seeking for a job and he has been so down lately with many things going on, therefore I have been down too. I don’t like to see him struggle. I haven’t quite figured out how to support and encourage him right now, but it was very encouraging to be reminded that God is in control and He knows exactly what is to come and where we will end up.
