Genesis 42: 51b  For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and my father’s house.

Genesis 42:52b  For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

What hurts are you harboring in your heart?  What struggles might you be facing today?  God does want to heal you heart, help you forget all your trouble from the present and the past and He truly wants to bless you!

When I was a teenager I spent some time at my sisters babysitting their 2 year old daughter while my sister was at work.  One day when Jean, my sister, was at home a bird flew into the living room window!  Actually it SMACKED into the window and dropped to the ground.  Jean and I looked out the window and we could see he was still laying there in the snow so I went out to check on him.  He was still breathing so I went inside and got a small towel to cover him with hoping he would recover.  The 3 of us sat on the sofa watching until we saw a flutter and all was still under his little covering.  We were certain he had died and we really felt awful but within a few seconds he jumped up and flew away!  For several minutes we were really feeling bad for him, be honest, ladies you did too as you read this.

If we could have that much concern for a little bird that wasn’t even our pet, how much more do you think God cares about you when you run up against that brick wall of hurt or frustration?  God cares way beyond our comprehension!  He knows all you have faced and all you will face and He has even kept track of your every tear in a ledger!

I know a lot of the hurts we as women experience seem to have a male figure involved which can really mess with our minds since we all have a tendency to view God as male (which view, mind you, is incomplete – He is both! Everyone seems to forget that we were, as women also created to display a part of “God’s image”) It is important in our healing process to not shut God out because of that view though. We need to trust Him to allow Him access to our wounded hearts so we can move forward in life.
