Esther 2:5-7a    Now there was a Jew in Susa the citadel whose name was Mordecai, the son of Jair, son of Shemei, son of Kish, a Benjaminite, who had been carried away from Jerusalem among the captives carried away with Jeconiah king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of babylon had carried away. He was bringing up Hadessah, that is Esther, the daughter of his uncle for she had neither father nor mother.

We all know the story of Esther and how she became Queen instead of Vashti, it is a wonderful story of God’s deliverance, grace and power!  Esther, as young as she was (probably a young teenager) had already lived a lot of life!  She was carried away captive and lost both of her parents and was being raised by her cousin without the female influence of a godly Mom in a land where they didn’t believe in our God!  Life wasn’t easy and I am sure she was wondering how a poor Jewish girl was ever going to have a good husband in that day, would she ever have children, would they ever be free from the bondage they were under in this land?  Under her circumstances she was probably truly in survival mode, which one of us wouldn’t be?  Through it all God took the poorest of poor girls and moved in her life and not only on her behalf but on behalf of all the Jews to take her from poverty and slavery to be Queen of the land!

Are you feeling like you have reached the lowest of lows in some area of your life?  Do you ever feel that certain circumstances leave you without any hope at all for your future?  God, our God is the same God that took Esther from poverty to Queen, he took David from being a shepherd boy to being King, and the list goes on and on in the Bible of people that God used to show His mighty hand through by changing their lives in such a way that He is the only one who could have the credit!  What is it you need?  Are you lacking confidence for something you feel called to do – God doesn’t call the qualified, he qualifies the called!  Are you struggling in your finances – so was Esther, so was Ruth.  I would encourage you today to seek God and trust Him to do a mighty work in your life!  He wants to do great things through each of us so others will see Him!  Don’t waste another minute in unbelief, pray and ask God to show you in His word and to open doors as He sees fit so you can begin to move forward today!  The best is yet to come!
