John 10:10    The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy.  I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Are you happy with where you are, do you feel settled and nice and comfy?  If you do then you are missing out!  God never intended for you to reach a certain level and just sit there, he intended for you to continue to grow in Him and to strive for new heights spiritually, mentally and emotionally.  I found myself restless every time I woke up last night asking God, what do I need to read, what else can I learn without having to go through some horrific trauma or catastrophe right now.  I know life brings us all sorts of surprises and difficulties but if I am going to ask God for a lesson my first choice is for Him to show me what to look for so I can learn in preparation for those more difficult learning experiences.

Last night Bill and I were walking into a conference he had been asked to help with and as we were walking up the steps to the building there were a few ladies walking down the steps past us.  They were chatting “nicely” but I couldn’t help overhearing one lady say, “well, bless her heart, she just can’t help herself, that’s just the way that she is.”   Well, bless her heart I beg to differ on that!  Jesus came to die on the cross for those “just the way that I am” Christians!  Jesus never meant for us to just accept that this is who I am and well, I am just unable to change.  Seriously?

Ladies, God wants to give us life and He wants to give us an abundant life and that isn’t just a financial promise.  We have so much more in life than money!  There’s joy to be had in spiritual growth!  There’s real joy to be had in emotional growth as well!  Proverbs is full of the joy there is in wisdom!  Don’t settle for where you are!  You may not be some hateful, rotten, rebellious woman and you may truly be a great woman of God right where you are, but is it enough to stay where you are or are you eager to have more of God and His blessing on your life?

I want to be a wise godly woman who just never quits learning and growing until I see Jesus and can learn at His feet!  My goal starting today is to read more, to listen more and to seek Him more with every tool He puts in my path, I challenge you to join me.  If you need any suggestions for some good books to read email me and I would be happy to share some of my favorites with you.  I will also be posting more of them on my blog today along with some new recipes!  God bless you today as you seek Him!
