Hebrews 13:15   Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

How many sacrifices have you ever made in life that didn’t cost you something?  Typically the word implies that a sacrifice is something that “costs” you or it isn’t really a sacrifice.  What is your response to a bad day, ill health or maybe a bad job or even a bad relationship, do you feel like praising God over it?  In the natural our typical human response is to grumble and complain to God and ask Him “why” life is so miserable but the best thing we can do in those situations is offer up the sacrifice of Praise to God!  The God who can give you the strength to persevere, the God who is so much bigger than any problem or “situation” we may have that we don’t have to worry He can handle it, the God who created everything and most of all the God who loves you beyond your comprehension.  He already knows what you are going through, it hasn’t escaped His notice and He is eager to help.

How much more do you think you move Heaven and Earth with your praise to God than you do with your grumbling and complaining?  The Bible is clear that if we didn’t praise God that even the rocks would cry out with praise to Him, so even the earth is waiting to hear you praise God!  It isn’t that God doesn’t want to hear your heart, He certainly does but along with that we need to praise Him for all He has done, does and will do.  God always deserves our praise!  We can always trust that if He has allowed it in our lives it is for our growth and sometimes that growth could just be to learn to praise Him and trust Him completely.

Search your heart today and if you are struggling to praise God turn on some praise and worship music and let it fill your heart and mind.  Ask God to give you a spirit of praise today and take it one day at a time.  Remind yourself each morning before you start your day, even if it is while you wait for your alarm to go off one more time, how Mighty your God is and praise Him for every incredible detail about Him that comes to your mind!  You will be amazed at the difference in your attitude and your day!
