1 Peter 5:8-9   Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.  Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Bill and I both grew up in rather conservative homes where we didn’t talk much about the spiritual world surrounding us but over the years we have both had to face situations that have made us both very aware that Satan is alive and working over time with the demons he has working with him to destroy any and all good!  He wants to destroy you, your marriage, your children and he wants to rob you of your blessings!  He is a liar!

One of the biggest attacks Bill and I have both seen lately is that Satan seems to come after us with lies and I know that as women you all know what I am talking about.  Satan does his best to beat up every woman I have ever known with his lies of; you aren’t pretty enough, you are too heavy – you will never lose this weight, you are too needy, you are not enough, you will never accomplish what you need to accomplish, you can never change!  Once again I say, Satan is a liar!  Those are all lies straight from hell and it is time to stop believing them!  God wants to empower you today and He wants to use you in a great way, it is time to get in agreement with God and throw out the lies that Satan has impressed on you over the years!

In Jeremiah 13:25 it says, “This is your lot, the portion I have measured out to you, declares the Lord, because you have forgotten me and trusted in lies.”  Is that what you want?  Do you want to miss out on the blessings of God because you have chosen to believe Satan’s lies instead of believing God when it comes down to who you are?  God has a plan for you, don’t give up hope and don’t believe the lies!  Choose to believe Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope.

It is your choice whom you will believe, I would encourage you to start today to change the way you think.  Start recognizing the lies of I can’t etc and write down the truths that God has for you that say, “yes, you can”.  I found a suggestion the other day and I am going to start today;  I am going to program Bible verses, positive sayings and affirmations into my phone to go off every two hours to remind me of who I am in Christ and every time I find another lie that Satan throws at me I am going to add scripture to this list to battle the lie.  I don’t want to spend another moment believing and trusting in Satan’s lies and not trusting the Lord of Lords!

Thank you so much for this word today. I needed it. I have struggled with eating disorders off and on for well over 20years. I have done well fighting it with God’s help for the past 12 years. However over the past few weeks the symptoms have begun resurfacing. I know it is not what God wants for me and my family. I needed the reminder that the lies are from satan and the answer is God.
