Daniel 3:16-18  Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king,  “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.  If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.  But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

How much do you trust God?  God has really been teaching me to only, always rely on Him, to not look to other people for answers but to always fully trust Him on every level.  I have thought for years that I do but He has shown me areas in my life that I have had a tendency to look to other people for the answer.  How do you know if you really trust Him or not:  Ask yourself how you respond if you are expecting God to deliver you from something or help you with something and He doesn’t.  What is your attitude then?  Do you get angry and turn your back and decide to look elsewhere for the answer or do you trust that He truly knows what is best for you and He loves you enough to always do what is best for you?

Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were facing more than simple deliverance from a struggle of the day, they were facing possible death and yet their response was that whether or not God chose to deliver them that day they would not bow down to Nebuchadnezzar’s gods.  They were not basing their trust in God on whether or not God did what they thought was best for them, they were going to trust and follow Him regardless of God’s answer.  That is amazing faith!  I read this story and asked myself if I truly trust God that much?  I recently prayed and asked God for something specific and fully believed that He was going to answer it and that He was going to answer it on a specific day but it didn’t happen.  At first I was hurt and very frustrated and then Satan got to work to try to put thoughts of “what good does it do to have faith if it doesn’t work” and “maybe you just aren’t that important to God after all” but I knew those were lies from Hell and refused to listen and decided to trust that God knows what is best and realized once again I was hoping certain people or things would “do what I needed them to do”.  Wow, what happened to trusting God?  Our answers aren’t always His answers and we know our ways aren’t always His ways so why would we think the answers have to come our way and in our time.  We really have no clue what is best for us.  God answers us according to what He knows is best and He knows that if we knew what He knows it is what we would ask for anyhow.

We all have things we are facing, let’s all start today and choose to praise Him in our storms and glorify Him in His waiting room!  Ask God for His peace today that will help you get through this one day at a time.  He will come through and it is going to be great!  The best is yet to come if we will just allow Him to work and move in our lives without taking over or looking to other people or things.  He loves you and wants the best for you, even if things look dismal right now trust that His best is just around the bend!
