Jeremiah 12:2   You plant then, and they take root; they grow and produce fruit;  you are near in their mouth and far from their heart.

Wherever you may be today, at work, church, home or on vacation is God as active in your heart as he is in your mouth? In other words; are you better at talking about God than you are at having a real walking relationship with Him?  When you sing songs of praise are they just words you know in your head or is it a song that resonates in your heart and overwhelms you with praise to God?

God doesn’t want meaningless words coming out of our mouths, he wants true praise.  He is more concerned about having a loving deep relationship with you than He is to hear what you have to say about Him if they are mere words uttered without even a thought of Who you are talking about.

I would encourage you today and this week, as you go about your days to evaluate why you do the things you do “for Him” and the things you have to say “about Him”.  Are your words and actions genuine or are they more out of habit or show?  Don’t miss out on the amazing relationship you can have with God by walking mindlessly through this life.  When I get to heaven and finally get to see His face I don’t want to feel as though I have just met a stranger, I want to throw my arms around Jesus my friend, my savior and Lord who I have been longing to see and spend time face to face with!

Don’t wait any longer; all of us can go deeper in our walk with HIm, all we have to do is ask.  Develop such a deep relationship with HIm that when words do come out of your mouth there is no mistaking that it came from a heart that truly loves and serves God!

Quote:

“Until we know Jesus, God is merely a concept, and we can’t have faith in Him.  But once we hear Jesus say,’He who has seen Me has seen the Father’ we immediately have something that is real, and our faith is limitless.”  Oswald Chambers
