Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Do you ever get angry and say things you don’t really mean or that you would never normally let come out of your mouth?  I think we all do that at times and I know it may seem easy to justify it when we get angry but it still isn’t right!  As the Bible also says in Ephesians 4:26 “Be angry and sin not; don’t let the sun go down upon your wrath.”  We are always supposed to be careful what we say, our words speak volumes about which we are and what is important to us.  Honesty, grace, kindness, love, those types of things is what should be on the tips of our tongue, not hatefulness.

This is really a serious thing our words need to be checked before they come out of our mouths.  We can’t get them back once they are out there.  All the kind words on earth cannot remove the hurt that hateful words can cause.  Think about how it would make you feel if someone said the things to you that you might say to others out of anger or frustration.  My Dad always use to tell me to “think twice before saying anything”, there is a lot of wisdom in that.  If you don’t say it you don’t have to worry about trying to fix what your words break.

When we have a difficult time controlling ourselves and the words that spill out of our mouths it is a heart condition.  Matthew 15:19 says, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.”  If you struggle in this area ladies then take it to God and ask Him to help you.  If someone close to you has this problem then pray that God will speak to their hearts and burden them to give that area to Him as well.

I have also found that those who seem to have a lot of anger are often those that are hurting the most and if that is the case please allow God to heal your hurts today, if you need a counselor go to our website at www.freeourfamily.com and click on the banner that says “Find a Counselor” and you can type in your zip code and find a counselor from the American Association of Christian Counselors.

Take the time today to pray and ask God to reveal anything that you might need to fix in the way you communicate with others.  Ask God to guide you in the steps you need to take today and He will bless you for your obedience to Him!
