Psalm 62:5

My soul wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Is your expectation in Him or are you trusting in something or someone else?  Bill and I were just talking the other day about faith and how much we all seem to lack these days in that area.  Jesus says in Mark 9:23 “If you can believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”  He said ALL things there so what are we missing?  Sometimes I feel as though we as Americans have learned to trust in our jobs or other people or sometimes the government instead of God.  Trust me I know those things are important and we need jobs and programs but our faith needs to be in God not that program or job.

I was reading in Chronicles this morning too and King Amaziah had a great victory over the Edomites and when the battle was over he decided to grab the idols of the people they just killed and he brought them home to worship them.  The prophet came to him and said, “Seriously you brought back the gods of the people you just killed that couldn’t save them to worship them instead of the God who just gave you victory?” (Paraphrase by Janet) Unfortunately we do the same thing at times it just may not seem as obvious.  We get a new job and all of a sudden we no longer have the time to spend at church or in His word because we are too caught up and committed to our new job or we get in a new relationship and we spend Sundays, because that is the “only time we have”, doing things other than going to church for a couple hours.

It is so important Ladies to not allow our expectations and hopes come from something or someone else other than God.  True blessing and peace come only from God and following His direction for our lives.  I don’t know what you are waiting for today but I would encourage you to only look to God for your answer whether big or little your situation is best resolved by waiting on Him.  If you are lacking in your faith this morning then do as the man did that Jesus was talking to in Mark 9 and tell Him, “Lord I believe; help my unbelief.”
